Digital Footsteps into the 21st Century Classroom

This unique piece of writing was written by educator, Jerrilyn Stover, to encourage and inspire educators to embrace the world of a child. The main focus of that world is technology & music!  Children today are born with an iPod in their ears and a cell phone in their pockets. More and more 21st Century educators are realizing that if we use technology tools such as these in our classrooms the children’s interest levels will peak. Therefore levels of student achievement will increase as well. I believe the old saying, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” hold true in the case of our  Net Generation of students. Schools have so many rules against using iPods and cell phones. If we are able to discover ways to utilize them in the classroom, instead of outlawing them, more young people will be reached. Can you think of ways to utilize  iPods in your school.

Digital Footsteps into the 21st Century Classroom is a book that discusses many suggestions!
